I'm building a machine
It runs on a battery
It's a rain machine, you see
The first of its kind

It's a complicated process
But I've been making progress
Perfecting the recipe of rain

Oh, the pitter and the patter and the bicker and the chatter remind me
Nothing really is the matter, my bones ain't shattered, no, I am free
I know things'll look better when they get a little wetter and submarine
But in the spaces in between I get so lonesome start to dream about a Rain machine

I'll crank it up on sunny days
Cloak the world in a rainbow haze
And all will shine and all will be made green

Turn my town into a swamp
Grow a jungle on a mountaintop
Anywhere there is sky, I will bring the sea

Gaze into the mist
Share the moisture from your lips
Take the wetness of your eyes and add it to the fog

If I should be consumed,
I'd merely be amused
